About Me:I'm Joel, 30 years old, and been playing off and on for about 5 years. I'm really looking for a raiding guild...10-25 mans. I'm not too serious, enjoy joking around, have an..."off" sense of humor, take criticism well, learn fights quickly, and know what to pay attention to (always one eye on mob agro, one eye on my healer for mana, their health, and any agro on them, and one eye on other tank in case they drop...I know, I have three eyes). I can handle being main tank no prob, but I do specialize in aoe tanking/agro (as all pally tanks should in my opinion). I do not take offense to being OT all the time. According to wowheroes, my gear is good for everything except 25 man ICC. I don't know my score...I don't put much into what it shows. Skill is very important, and gear score doesn't account for it. I have the highest mitigation for Pally tanks on server, but HP is only around 32.5k unbuffed. With holy shield up, I run with about 103% mitigation...I'm old school I guess. I started with Dark Ages of Camelot in the way of MMOs and learned a lot about pulling, agro range, and holding agro from that game. I do have a DPS off set/dual spec, but tanking is what I'm good at. What are you looking for in a guild?
I'm leaving my current guild due to lack of raiding. Been with them about 3 years, but it's time. I really want to be in a guild that runs at least 2-3 times a week and is striving to reach 25 man ICC. I also want to be a part of a guild that can relax and enjoy WoW for what it is...a game. We all have lives and that should be understood in my opinion. Reasons for leaving previous/current guild?
Multiple cancellations of weekly raids, a build-up of past "events" within guild and personal dealings I have had with individuals (specifically that were friends with GLs, so they were given favoritism during roles...long story), and they just aren't pushing to reach the goals that I think we all have...to see all content and get the best gear possible. What kind of experience do you have with the game?
About 5 years...almost all of it as a Pally tank. I've always pushed the envelope...like fighting a lvl 44 when I was 36 just to prove I could...20 minute fight, but I won. I have seen very little of the original 40 man content, but have been in most of the BC and WotLK 5/10/25 man stuff. Describe your role in a group.
I'm a tank...I listen to the leader for what they want from me...OT and suck up all the adds or MT, but hold agro on a few adds at the same time if OT struggles. As a Pally tank, I watch how the healers are doing. If I see a healer drop and I'm OT, but my role isn't vital in that fight, I won't hesitate to start throwing heals while keeping some agro. I have 2 jobs...hold agro and make sure that if a healer gets agro, I pull it off ASAP. What would you bring to our guild? Why should we pick you?
I cannot tell you that I will bring something new to you...I don't know what you have. I know my role, I know how to watch everyone around me, I don't panic or hesitate, and I don't give up until the leader calls it. The greatest finish was MT, 1 dps, and me (OT Pally) in a 25 man...the three of us took down the last 2% of boss. I bring with me a sense of humor, the ability to follow, input that I won't hesitate to offer if it seems needed or appropriate, and a watchful eye. |
