Long recruitment posts suck, sorry in advance. Ideal candidates will read it all, perhaps several times, understand it, and agree with it. Not because we are asking you to, but because that's just how you roll. The Backseat is a guild with a hardcore attitude and casual schedule that has been built to enable a convergence of players with ideals that match the following.

The Backseat Recruitment Post - The SeriousFace Section.

1) First and foremost, every single raider is expected to have an ambitious attitude toward progression content. Tuesday and Wednesday are our main raiding nights. Raiders are expected to prepare themselves for new content with study and other preparations outside of raid time. Raiders are expected to maintain high levels of attendance. Extended absence is not frowned upon, as long as communication lines are kept open. PTR raids will happen. Applicants that want to enjoy all the benefits The Backseat has to offer will attend.

2) Each raider is expected to understand and act upon the fact that there is always something you can do to better yourself in preparation for planting heroic bosses on their asses. Experience is not a high requirement for entry into the guild. The capability to gain raid experience and assimilate it into self-improvement in an efficient manner is. This is studied very closely during Trial Membership.

3) Members must act in ways that increase the guild's viability in top-tier content. They are expected to help develop the guild using their own means and methods. If you are a good recruiter, go recruit top caliber players that share our ideals. If you are a good farmer, supply mats that are needed for progression. Et cetera.

4) Raiders must be environmentally aware. If you are seriously considering joining us, we should not have to point out to you the fact that some people are simply not in a position to increase their physical reflexes and mental responsiveness to a point that is necessary to respond as required in pre-nerf heroic and achievement content. Likewise, if you are someone that believes your supposed role in the raid and position on a meter are more important than being responsive to the encounter's environment, do not apply.

5) Members will not act like asshats or sissies. We do not enjoy immature shit-talkers who care about nothing but their own place in the pecking order. This guild is a moral meritocracy. Your success here depends on your ability to kick boss ass while not being an anti-social douchebag, causing drama, or requiring babysitting. There are other guilds that do not require this. We do.

The Backseat Recruitment Post - CasualFace section

Ok, all of the above is well and good, but The Backseat is not really a SeriousFace guild. We are a community of raiders with similar mindsets, who like to chill while raiding or just doing maintenance. All of that SeriousFaceness just facilitates why we are really here. To do cool achievements, beat the game, and most importantly, have fun doing it.

Our leadership has been around the block. We have officers with anywhere from 2 to 14 years of MOG experience, all of which have previous guild/clan leadership experience. Guild members all have attractive and funny friends and/or spouses. We are either rocket scientists, brain surgeons, army generals, or wealthy stock brokers. We all bench 350 and run a 4 minute mile.

The Backseat has provided a limousine for your use. The Backseat is all yours. If you make it through trial membership, you have earned the privelege. We will achieve our goals, and get where we want to be, while riding in comfort and style.

The only thing that separates The Backseat from the world top-100 guilds is that we do not raid 5 days per week or cause our members unnecessary headaches. Good game. If you agree with all of the statements above, you can apply with 100% confidence that you will be welcome here.
